The ancient art of raku firing is a dramatic, exciting and unpredictable approach to pottery surface design. Best suited for beginner students with some experience in hand building or wheel throwing, this class covers raku basics. We’ll explore simple forms which lend themselves to raku and go over the many different glaze techniques and possibilities. Students will raku fire each week and receive both wheel and hand–building demos suitable to raku.

  • All materials and equipment provided.
  • You will receive 25 pounds of clay; additional clay is available for purchase.
