Learn basic machine and hand–sewing techniques, then create a lined tote bag or small beginner project and a project of your choice with instructor guidance. You’ll learn how to take measurements, choose and follow a pattern, select and prep fabric, sew zippers, create buttonholes and make some simple adjustments to get a better fit.

  • Sewing machines are supplied, but you may bring your own if you prefer.
  • Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.

Catherine Southall holds a BFA in Fashion Design from VCU and has worked in the fashion industry for over 20 years. She is currently a local teacher and a professional artist.
