Learn the secrets to sizing metal clay rings as you form both coil and flat bands. You’ll make a slab “washer” style ring with a custom template, and fire a flat strip that you’ll bend into shape after firing. You’ll also learn how to account for shrinkage, strength and durability. You can use previously learned skills and/or try out a two–part mold making material to replicate decorative buttons and other designs to decorate the bands of your unique ring.

  • Materials will be available for purchase in class at a discounted cost; plan to spend approximately $50 on material.
  • A lunch break will be provided; students are encouraged to bring a bag lunch.
  • Prerequisite: Students must have recent experience using Metal Clay. Please know what size rings you want to make.
  • Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date.
  • This class runs from 10 AM – 4 PM on Saturday, and 1–4 pm on Sunday.
