Transform rough–cut lumber into a small, functional spline-mitered keepsake box. This project will introduce you to all the basic woodshop essential tools. Through milling, you'll learn to use the jointer and planer. When cutting parts and joinery, you’ll learn to use the miter saw and table saw. You’ll learn how to lay out your box parts, plan ahead to make it just the right size, then sand and finish it. This could be a small container for jewelry, dice, or cards or it could be as big as a shoe box. Come with one special item or a set of items in mind that you could store in this box.
