Learn the basics of pattern making by creating a 3-D fabric object based off of a 2-D drawing. Create a funny, soft, stuffed object to keep in your house and make you laugh as well as keep you cozy.

  • Students should be comfortable with a sewing machine. Bring all fabrics you would like to work with. Cotton plain weave is best- Duck, Canvas or Quilting fabrics. Bring shiny, slippery, or see through fabrics sparingly as they are harder to work with but can be done!
  • This class runs Saturday and Sunday 10 AM - 4 PM.
  • Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.

Tesni Stephen holds a BFA in Apparel Design from Rhode Island School of Design and a Masters of Art Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has experienced many wonderful jobs in life including being an English teacher in Japan, working in the costume and textiles collection at the Valentine Richmond History Center, working as a teaching artist for Milk River Arts, and even learning the art of millinery with Ignatius Hats in Petersburg, Virginia!
