Combine digital and traditional techniques to create your own photographic letterpress plates. Use photographic techniques to make polymer plates of halftone images and text that can be used on our presses. While digging through a type case to find a specific comma can be fun and nostalgic, commercial letterpress printing has since evolved to use digital methods to create text and images. Photosensitive polymer plates are exposed using transparent photo negatives and UV light: sections of the emulsion harden to create raised relief, while unexposed areas are washed away in a process similar to silkscreen emulsion.
