Learn the fundamentals of a printing press and the power of print as a medium by making cut paper collages. We'll explore a traditional printing technique called Chine-Colle, which is used to bind thinner substrates like rice paper or linen to rag paper. Inspired by paper collages such as those of Henri Matisse, colored papers treated with wheat paste can be cut and arranged on plexiglass before being bound to the rag paper backing on the press. It’s a fancy version of classic Elmer’s glue and construction paper!
