Step outside and explore Richmond while learning to paint on the spot. We'll explore 3-D drawing skills, color theory and a range of watercolor techniques including dry brush, wet on wet, wet on dry, scumbling and salt. Students will sketch landscapes, paint from light to dark, and mix colors on the spot as they see them.

  • Students will be painting outside, so be prepared to carry items and walk. 
  • Class meets 10 AM - 4 PM, both Saturday and Sunday.
  • Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
Chabot, Tosh

Born between waves in the crown of New England, now settled in the humid flatlands of Richmond, Tosh Chabot is an Arab/French-Canadian, non-binary person who finds comfort through painting. Since graduating from VCU with a BFA in Painting and Printmaking, they enjoy expressionism, landscapes, queer theory, and finely detailed printmaking. This influences their work as they move between realism and abstraction with a deep, yet soft palette. Their work ranges within mediums using watercolor, lithography, intaglio, latex house paint, and oils.
