The menorah is one of the most recognized symbols of Hanukkah. Artists today make this iconic candelabra in styles from strictly traditional to wildly contemporary, even whimsical. Explore traditional blacksmithing techniques while designing and creating a menorah of your own. On Thursday evening, we’ll focus on design, what makes a menorah a menorah, and lots of inspiration for your project. On Saturday, we start hitting hot iron! If you’d rather not make a menorah, you’re welcome to create a candleholder. Class is open to beginners; ideally you’ll have some familiarity with forging.

  • Students will meet on November 7, from 6 PM - 9 PM, in order to design and plan their projects.
  • The class will meet from 10 AM - 4 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
  • Some materials provided; the instructor will discuss other necessary supplies and how to purchase them.
