Learn how to transform metals into beautiful works of wearable art. We’ll cover techniques such as sawing, drilling, texturing, working with wire, filing, sanding and polishing. We’ll also cover riveting, soldering with a torch and basic stone setting. You’ll use these skills to make one finished piece of jewelry.

  • Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
  • Some materials provided; the instructor will discuss other necessary supplies and how to purchase them.
Adams, Susan

Susan Adams, a professional jeweler and metalsmith, was born in Richmond, VA. and received her MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art. She has taught jewelry classes at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, the Virginia Museum, VCU, and Richmond Public Schools. Versatility, skill and meticulous attention to detail allow her to design and produce unique decorative objects, jewelry, hollowware and commissioned projects. Her awards include "Best of Show" and "Best Artist Metal" from the Western Design Conference, and "Quality Craftsmanship" from the Southwest School of Art, "Award for Functional Metal“ from the Richmond Craft and Design Show and a Virginia Museum Visual Arts Fellowship.
