Design and create your own small mosaic. Learn basic techniques such as adhering and grouting tile, incorporating objects into your design and finishing your piece. You’ll leave with at least one completed project you can hang in your home or garden.

  • Class will meet 10 AM - 4 PM on Saturday and 1 - 4 PM on Sunday.
  • Due to a small set of stairs, Drawing North is the only studio in our facility that is not handicap accessible.
  • Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
  • Please bring your own special tiles, stones, glass objects and broken bits to use!
Cecelia, Merenda

Merenda Cecelia lives in Richmond, Va. She is an artist and state certified art educator with extensive experience in mosaic work including several large installations. She has taught for 12 years in a variety of settings including public and private schools, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and The Visual Arts Center since graduating with a BFA in Art Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. She also works at the VMFA planning large community events, and when she is not doing that you can find her in the yoga studio or playing in creeks with her son. Website: merendacw.wordpress.com
