Create eclectic 2-D and 3-D art collections using clay, wire, fabric, paint and other materials. Each class is different, so students can sign up for multiple weeks.
Patrick Carter is a textile artist and elementary art teacher living in Richmond, Virginia. He teaches weaving and ArtVenture classes at Vis Arts, and his most recent projects include collaging with woven fabrics, machine tufting rugs, and making baskets. Patrick also teaches weaving at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Mary Swezey is a visual artist with a focus on textiles and printmaking. She received her BFA in Art History at VCU and her MFA in Fibers at Arizona State University. Her current work includes painted silk scarves, embroidery, mixed media works and monoprints. She has taught art extensively at VMFA, Longwood College, VCU as well as the Visual Arts Center.
