To assist you in preparing for this class, we have provided a link to the setup / test pages from the conference provider. If you have never used this conference service before please click on the link below so that your PC or device will be ready to participate in this class.

Design an original character using fresh produce. Bring your character to life by shooting an animation sequence with the Stop Motion Studio app using food and household objects.

  • Please download the free (or $5 version) of Stop Motion Studio on your tablet or phone prior to joining the Zoom class. Students will need to use two separate devices during class, an ipad or phone with the free Stop Motion Studio app downloaded, and a laptop or second device that can run Zoom video conferencing. Students should come to class with required materials.
  • • This is an online class. In order to attend online classes, students must be able to attend the class via Zoom, an online cloud conferencing program. You do not need to download the program to join for classes.
  • • You will be sent a link and password to your class one week before the class begins and the day before class begins. Please DO NOT share the link or password with anyone. Please keep the link somewhere you can easily access it throughout the entirety of your class.
  • • All online classes are recorded for quality purposes. If you miss a class, you may request a class recording from techsupport@visartsorg. Class recordings will be made available up to fourteen days after the session concludes.
  • • Neither the instructor, students nor VisArts are permitted to monetize online class recordings in any way. Please do not share class recordings on social media or other websites.

Hamidi, Ariana

Ariana Hamidi is a filmmaker who combines autobiographical fiction and political satire through performance art, re-photography, animated texts, and 16mm hand processes. Her films have been shown throughout the US and internationally including Anthology Film Archives, Int'l Film Festival Rotterdam, Athens Int’l Film & Video Festival, MadCat Int’l Womens Film Festival, and Beijing Int’l Film Festival. Her film and companion chapbook, Dear Cyclops, was published by Bronze Skull Press. She has an MFA in Performing Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a BFA in Film, Photography, and Visual Arts from Ithaca College. Ariana has been sharing her passion for time-based media with students of all ages for fifteen years.
