How can photographs be used to showcase a holistic depiction of life in other parts of the world? Travel always inspires storytelling. When traveling, one can develop an authentic, captivating visual story by creating visuals that reflect the human experience. Students will learn about how to thoughtfully build a visual narrative using photographs from their previous trips with consideration to perspective, selective focus, composition, and different types of light. Adobe Lightroom will be used to streamline the editing process.

  • Onsite courses do not come with open studio this semester. Prerequisite: beginner digital photography class or comparable experience.
  • • Students and teachers will only be allowed to enter and exit the building through the Main Street entrance.
  • • Access to the building is restricted to the class’ two hour window. Students and teachers must ensure that their work is concluded, cleaned, and that they are out of the studio by the end of the scheduled class time to ensure a smooth transition for cleaning to commence.
  • • Anyone in the building must wear a mask at all times (students, teachers and staff).
  • • Students must ensure they maintain 6 ft of social distancing to fellow students and teachers.
  • • While communal spaces such as restrooms are available, moving between studios or the rest of the building is prohibited.
  • • When accessing the building for class, students must announce themselves to the front desk staff member from a 6 ft distance, who will confirm you on the roster and direct you to the studio.
  • Students need a camera, laptop and jump drive.
