While you're stuck at home, why not adorn yourself with jewelry that you made? We'll learn different building techniques using clay that can bake in the oven. You'll make pendants, earrings and beads to create bracelets and necklaces.

  • You need an oven and to purchase your own polymer clay.
  • • This is an online class. In order to attend online classes, students must be able to attend the class via Zoom, an online cloud conferencing program. You do not need to download the program to join for classes.
  • • You will be sent a link and password to your class one week before the class begins and the day before class begins. Please DO NOT share the link or password with anyone. Please keep the link somewhere you can easily access it throughout the entirety of your class.
  • • All online classes are recorded for quality purposes. If you miss a class, you may request a class recording from techsupport@visartsorg. Class recordings will be made available up to fourteen days after the session concludes.
  • • Neither the instructor, students nor VisArts are permitted to monetize online class recordings in any way. Please do not share class recordings on social media or other websites.

Orr, Christine

Christine Orr b.1993 (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist based in Richmond, Virginia. Working in clay, fiber, paper-making and poetry, her practice critically navigates how humans have co-evolved with objects. Orr investigates material culture’s role in our understanding of domestic and utilitarian items. This research connects objects and what they are made from as well as their metaphorical and symbolic potential. Orr received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 2015. She completed her Master of Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University in the Craft/Material Studies Department in 2021.
