Explore the basics of clay. We’ll cover the proper use of studio tools and materials. You’ll learn about slab construction, coil building and combined techniques.

  • Two hours added for in-person glazing at VisArts. This class comes with a full bag of clay which can be picked up at our front entrance. Pick up days are Mondays 10am-12:30pm, and Wednesdays + Fridays from 2pm-4:30pm. This class includes bisque firing for objects made during class, and a glaze day that students may sign up for at a later date. Students in this class are NOT eligible to rent a wheel from VisArts.
Kaczka, Dan

Dan Kaczka is a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in art education. As a professionally licensed art teacher, Dan has an interdisciplinary knowledge of contemporary teaching practices and a broad understanding of various art media including over two decades of experience creating ceramic artworks.
