This one's all about you! Learn the basics of comic-making, then design yourself in cartoon form and create a short, autobiographical story to share with the world. We'll look at other artists who put themselves in their work to get inspiration and learn why they do what they do.

  • There will be optional out of class drawing assignments for students who are feeling really curious, but they are not required to participate.

Rae Whitlock is a multimedia artist and educator living and working in Richmond, Virginia. She has an MFA in Performance Art from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she also taught Art History and Writing. She has had the pleasure of teaching all age groups through VisArts since 2019 and aims to make art fun and accessible for everyone.
