If you’ve taken a beginner drawing class, this intermediate class is a great opportunity to practice your observation skills, experiment with personal mark making style and apply them to various subject areas with drawing media. Explore and get guidance as you develop your own individual style and subject matter interests. We’ll focus on the development stages of a drawing, from starting to finding a stopping point. Possible projects in various media include: Portrait, landscape, drapery, perspective, still life and gesture drawings. We’ll also try some experimental exercises to loosen up.

  • Prerequisite: A beginner drawing class or comparable drawing experience. Intermediate Drawing students will need to be comfortable with putting pencil to paper with the likelihood of making mistakes.
  • Due to a set of stairs, this classroom is not wheelchair accessible.
  • Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
  • This is an On-site course. On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program: if interested please visit visarts.org. Students must follow social distancing protocols and wear masks at all times.
