In this class we will discuss the basics of character, prop and environment design with a focus on graphic novels (but touching upon how similar application occurs in books, movies and games). Students will go through the process of ideating, refining and depicting a fully-realized character, their inventory and details about the world they live in - At the end of the class they should have a fully rendered character, as well as a layout of at least one environment and several props (arranged all together with explanatory text). Hopefully the beginning of a story in the making!
