Learn how to design a floral-inspired mosaic coaster and cut pieces of glass to fill that pattern. Students can expect to learn about the chemistry behind how glass melts in a kiln.

  • Please wear closed toe shoes.

    Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.

Murphy, Kathryn

Kathryn Murphy is a mixed media artist who often uses mirrors in her work to distort and confront reflection. Murphy has been working with glass for over a decade, and received her MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in Craft and Material Studies in 2018. While at VCU, Murphy received multiple grants and her thesis work was selected as the cover of the MFA Thesis Exhibition catalog. She currently resides in Norfolk, VA where she is the Program Coordinator at the Chrysler Museum's Perry Glass Studio. www.kateymurphy.com
