Explore champlevé, a technique where raised fields of metal and enamel are inlayed into recessed compartments. Students will learn to etch the fields for color using an acid called ferric chloride.

  • Previous metal jewelry experience is recommended.  Please note that this class does use lead-based enamels. All materials provided.

    Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.

    Students must follow social distancing protocols and wear masks at all times. For more info visit visarts.org. Liz Borsetti graduated from VCU Craft/Material Studies in 2012 with a focus in metalsmithing. Resident artist of Mule Barn Craft Studio a collaborative studio located in the fan of Richmond, VA. As well as teaching enameling at Visarts, she is the Facility Coordinator.
