Come and make art side by side as a family. Each week, families will explore a new medium and create a beautiful project together. Let's explore the artwork of artist Bridget Beth Collins as inspiration for creating our own botanical sun catchers using a variety of natural and recycled materials. The class will begin with a reading of the children's book "Anywhere Artist" by Nikki Slade-Robinson. We will then practice using natural materials such as shells, flowers, sticks, stones, and various loose parts to create transient art arrangements, designs and shapes. The final project (sun-catchers) will be made by arranging pressed flowers and natural materials on clear contact paper, with recycled materials to create frames to hang your arrangement in a window. The petals and natural materials look beautiful when the sun shines through!
