Let's learn how to fuse and slump glass in a furnace called a kiln! We'll make cool designs by cutting out colorful sheets of glass. When we layer different colors on top of each other and fire them in the kiln, we can make small pieces of art that are perfect for your home!

Murphy, Kathryn

Kathryn Murphy is a mixed media artist who often uses mirrors in her work to distort and confront reflection. Murphy has been working with glass for over a decade, and received her MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in Craft and Material Studies in 2018. While at VCU, Murphy received multiple grants and her thesis work was selected as the cover of the MFA Thesis Exhibition catalog. She currently resides in Norfolk, VA where she is the Program Coordinator at the Chrysler Museum's Perry Glass Studio. www.kateymurphy.com
