Spend an afternoon in one of Richmond’s green spaces learning to paint the summer foliage in watercolor. We'll meet at VisArts in the morning to go over materials, basic goals and a few techniques. Then, we'll decide as a group where to paint for the rest of the day. Once outside, each student will start their own piece. The instructor will individually spend time with each student to give advice, explain techniques and give you a better understanding of watercolor landscape painting and drawing.

  • This class meets on Saturday from 10-4 and Sunday from 1-4. While Watercolor painting is highlighted you are welcome to bring in other sketching or drawing materials - pen and ink, pastels, pencil etc... are all welcome. Prerequisite - Students should have some experience with watercolor and how it is used. If it rains we will schedule a rain date on next weekend.

This is an ONSITE course. All onsite students are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Students are expected to adhere to our COVID-19 policies. Onsite courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. For more info please visit visarts.org.

Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
