Make books from anything!- with folds, cuts, glue and imagination. Bring clippings, wrappers, cards, boxes, any kind of paper you're willing to cut and glue. A great workshop for collage makers, journalers, collectors, photographers, travelers and anyone who loves paper and wants to learn about bookmaking. Basic bookmaking tools and supplies provided; students will bring paper and materials for their books (see materials list). All levels welcome! Students will go home with books in several styles and attain skills and inspiration to make many more.

  • Students should bring things they want to use in their books (suggestion list will be provided). Students are encouraged to bring cutting mat, ruler & X-acto if they have available. Fee covers all other materials and tools.

    This class is not wheelchair accesible due to a set of stairs.

    This is an ONSITE course. All onsite students are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Students are expected to adhere to our COVID-19 policies. Onsite courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. For more info please visit visarts.org.

Under the moniker Blue Skies Workroom, Alyssa designs and makes bags, aprons, books, and other delights for everyday living using her own screenprinted fabric and papers, lots of vibrant patterns, glowing colors, and sometimes chickens.
