Learn the process of making paper from start to finish using recycled materials. We'll cover pulp-making, using fiber additives, forming, drying sheets. We'll decorate our finished papers to create a unique stationary set.

  • Students are encouraged to bring any materials you would like to include for decorating your finished papers like dry pressed flowers and petals, confetti, newspaper cut-outs, etc.

    This class counts as a special topics class in our Art League Certificate Program.

    Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.

Lizalde, Aida

Aida Lizalde is a multi-media artist and Mexican Immigrant that has strong ties to the California Central Valley and Bay-Area-Delta Regions. She is currently completing a Master in Fine Arts in Sculpture and Extended Media at Virginia Commonwealth University. She graduated from the University of California, Davis in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts and a Minor in Art History. Her work has been exhibited throughout California at institutions like the CCA Galleries, Chandra Cerrito Contemporary, Southern Exposure, South of Market Art Center, the Torrance Museum as well as New York’s School of Visual Arts and Mexico City’s Galeria 54. She has been a recipient of various awards including the VMFA Fellowship, Vermont Studio Center Fellowship, The Young Space Grant, the Crocker Kingsley Award, and the Herb Alpert Scholarship for Emerging Young Artists.
