Experiment with or continue developing screenwriting for film through exercises and workshops. Students will work towards completing a short screenplay or TV pilot ready for production or begin/continue working on a feature length screenplay. This class is suitable for writers of any level and can be repeated.

  • Students may bring a computer with the ability to download free Celtx program on PC or MAC. Macs will be provided if you do not have a computer. Students will be expected to spend time writing and reading scripts outside of class.

    This is an ONSITE course. All onsite students are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Students are expected to adhere to our COVID-19 policies. Onsite courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. For more info please visit visarts.org.

Hamidi, Ariana

Ariana Hamidi is a filmmaker who combines autobiographical fiction and political satire through performance art, re-photography, animated texts, and 16mm hand processes. Her films have been shown throughout the US and internationally including Anthology Film Archives, Int'l Film Festival Rotterdam, Athens Int’l Film & Video Festival, MadCat Int’l Womens Film Festival, and Beijing Int’l Film Festival. Her film and companion chapbook, Dear Cyclops, was published by Bronze Skull Press. She has an MFA in Performing Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a BFA in Film, Photography, and Visual Arts from Ithaca College. Ariana has been sharing her passion for time-based media with students of all ages for fifteen years.
