Whether you're an adherent of David Sedaris and Patricia Lockwood, or just a total goof-around whackadoodle, this class will take you through a step-by-step process of drafting and refining a humorous tale in prose form.

  • Please bring something to write with!

    This is an ONSITE course. All onsite students are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Students are expected to adhere to our COVID-19 policies. Onsite courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. For more info please visit visarts.org.

Waggoner, Nate

Nate Waggoner’s writing has appeared in Electric Literature, Peach Mag, The Hard Times, Vol. 1 Brooklyn, Barrelhouse and elsewhere. His comics ran in the Willamette Week paper through 2016. He has won or placed several times in Shipwreck, the rowdy fan fiction contest, and two of his stories for it were anthologized in their book Loose Lips. He has performed at Union Hall, the Magnet Theater, Litcrawl, and elsewhere.
