Learn about the cyanotype process and how to integrate this alternative photography process into a variety of media. The cyanotype process uses UV light and non-toxic materials to print photographic images on a variety of surfaces. We will learn how to coat and print cyanotypes on paper first. Then we'll discuss conceptualizing and creating imagery for your pieces. You'll be encouraged to explore techniques like printing cyanotypes on other materials like wood or fabric and toning your cyanotypes to produce color variations.

  • Students are encouraged to have interest and experience in either printmaking and/or photography. The chemicals we work with in the process are toxic only if ingested. Limited materials will be provided, and it will be encouraged that students bring materials, images, and objects to use. y here or there.

This is an ONSITE course. All onsite students are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Students are expected to adhere to our COVID-19 policies.
