Develop your own repeat patterns utilizing simple shapes, cutting paper and iterative experimentation. In this fun workshop, students will explore visual language potential in fundamental shapes to create a suite of repeat patterns. They'll learn about types of repeats and we'll touch on how to move from cut paper to applications. This workshop is great for those printing by hand (such as screen-printers, and rubber stampers), those using digital print services (such as Spoonflower), graphic designers, those who fear they can't draw, and those who want to get away from their computers for a bit, and anyone who would like to have a playdate with their imagination.

  • Students should bring paper scissors, an X-acto knife or something similar, and a cutting mat or cardboard to cut on. Other materials will be supplied.

This class is not wheelchair accessible due to a set of stairs.

This is an ONSITE course. All onsite students are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Students are expected to adhere to our COVID-19 policies. Onsite courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. For more info please visit visarts.org.

Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
