Explore the basics of blacksmithing. You'll learn to forge a holiday stocking hanger, then make one or more small projects to stuff into the stocking like a keychain, bottle opener or ornament.

  • Please wear natural fiber clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, and work shoes or boots. Eye and hearing protection will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer. Bring Drinking Water. Flannel is not reccomended. All materials provided. If under age 18, must also register with an adult.
  • Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
  • Students must follow current Covid-19 protocols, as outlined by our website. For more info visit visarts.org. Veneziano, Jerry

Jerry Veneziano has been a blacksmith for most of his adult life. He began his career doing historic reproductions as one of the smiths at Jamestown Settlement in Williamsburg, VA. Today, he produces contemporary and sculptural ironwork that has been featured in galleries and museums along the East Coast.
