Explore working with metal and traditional metalworking tools by creating sculptural works of your own. We will learn different ways to cut metal safely and bend it accurately, then we’ll try drilling, texturing, hammering, stamping and polishing our work. We will use the acetylene torch to soften (anneal) copper. Finally, we will bring dimension and form to copper cutouts by covering two basic fold forging techniques.

  • Students should expect a working environment. Please wear closed toed shoes and expect to tie back any long hair. Please wear clothes you be comfortable in while working.
