Wire Jewelry (Ages 9-11)
Youth Summer Camp | This class is completed
Create wearable, wire art! You’ll learn wire manipulating and shaping techniques, then use traditional jewelry tools to make roses, scrolls, perfect loops, wrapped loops, headpins, cages, hooks and closures. Learn to strengthen and harden your designs, then add beads and learn finishing techniques. Students ages 12-14 will have the opportunity to soften wire and solder with the acetylene torch.
Jeannine Metzfield
Jeannine’s journey forged a path into metalsmithing in 2002. She has studied Metals at Virginia Commonwealth University, The Visual Arts Center, Arrowmont and Penland School of Crafts. She currently teaches metalsmithing at The Visual Arts Center, as well as to private clients. In her studio she is inspired by the beauty and strength of nature. In her classes she promotes caring for the earth and connection to spirit.
