Class Description

Invent your own cartoon characters and stories as you learn about drawing methods and materials used by professional cartoonists. We'll also explore the history of the comic form.

Special Notes

Students may go outside to make art.

This is an On-site course. Students must follow current CDC + VDH guidance outlined on our website: visarts.org

Dashiell Kirk

Dashiell Kirk is a illustrator based in Richmond. His work ranges from Comics and graphic novels to playing card games and posters. He teaches cartooning, comic book illustration, and ink drawing at the Visual Arts Center, and has a BFA in Communication Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University.
