Ceramics + Surrealism (Ages 9-11)

Youth Summer Camp | This class is completed

The surrealist movement invented games to exercise the brain and ignite creative thinking. This is your chance to make fantastical sculptures in clay. Learn several techniques of hand building, explore various surface and glaze applications, and take inspiration from historical and contemporary ceramic sculptures. 

  • Students will use clay that needs to be fired, so work will be picked up at a later date.

    This class does not meet on 7/4.

    This is an On-site course. Students must follow current CDC + VDH guidance outlined on our website: visarts.org

Hey! I describe myself as a multidisciplinary artist, that loves exploring new and exciting mediums of creating. I have a background in Illustration from VCU, and working experience as a graphic designer. During 2022 I was able to work in the Visual Arts studios as a Studio Access Resident where I fell in-love with ceramic and metal working! I love incorporating animal and human narratives into my work and boarding on the fantastical, creating moody emotional and simple visual pleasures along the way.
