This class teaches basic sewing skills that a student can build on and use to make custom projects for themselves and their loved ones. They can use these skills to save money by making and repairing things themselves instead of paying someone else to do it. Students will learn how to use a sewing machine, how to select fabric to meet their project’s needs, some basic sewing terminology and how to read a pattern. They’ll learn how to assemble a piece and tips for a more professional-looking finished product. Students will have the opportunity to create a new project every week. They will take home 7-8 finished small projects along with the patterns to make them again at home.
