Explore all the possibilities of repeat patternmaking using Photoshop. In this 8 week course we will cover the principles of design and the technical components of building a pattern in Photoshop. You will learn what each tool does and all of their shortcuts. Each project will begin with a mood board which will be the basis for our patterns. Student will leave with a binder full of patterns and digital files to use however they want.

  • Please bring a USB Drive (32 GB is best).

    Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.

    This is an On-site course. Students must follow current Covid-19 protocols, as outlined on our website. For more info visit visarts.org. Carlton, Claire

Claire graduated from the University of Georgia with a BFA in Textile Design in 2016. She has worked in the design industry for a few years, having dabbled in bedding design and now works as a tabletop designer for a design firm in New York City. She moved to Richmond in the fall of 2022 and works remotely while working on her own fine art practice. She has experience in CAD, weaving, embroidery, and ceramics.
