This course is an introduction to techniques, software skills, and the theory of video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro. Students will apply technical principals they've learned through a series of creative video art exercises and in-depth hands on workshops to finish a class project. Suitable for beginners through advanced editors. A variety of topics will be introduced including but not limited to: importing/managing files, editing, exporting, special effects, layering, sound design, color correction, green screen compositing, and graphics. Depending on how fast the class moves, the shorter version of this class may not get to speacial effects and graphics.

  • Students will need to purchase their own SD cards. Students should bring a pair of over-ear headphones to class. A flash drive or access to a cloud drive is recommended for saving work.

    Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.

    This is an On-site course. Students must follow current Covid-19 protocols, as outlined on our website. For more info visit visarts.org. Hamidi, Ariana

Ariana Hamidi is a filmmaker who combines autobiographical fiction and political satire through performance art, re-photography, animated texts, and 16mm hand processes. Her films have been shown throughout the US and internationally including Anthology Film Archives, Int'l Film Festival Rotterdam, Athens Int’l Film & Video Festival, MadCat Int’l Womens Film Festival, and Beijing Int’l Film Festival. Her film and companion chapbook, Dear Cyclops, was published by Bronze Skull Press. She has an MFA in Performing Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a BFA in Film, Photography, and Visual Arts from Ithaca College. Ariana has been sharing her passion for time-based media with students of all ages for fifteen years.
