ONSITE: Confessional Poetry Writing

Adult Multi-Week | This class is completed

This class will focus on confessional style poetry. We will look at examples for inspiration as well as write in a workshop style class.Poets like Sylvia Plath will be helpful in guiding us to look inward and explore some themes for our writing, including personal growth, grief, beauty, and the spiritual. Be prepared to leave with multiple new poems!

  • Please bring a notebook and pencil/pen.

    Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.

    This is an On-site course. Students must follow current Covid-19 protocols, as outlined on our website. For more info visit visarts.org. Catherine Carson

Catherine Carson has been an avid writer and reader all her life. She graduated from James Madison University with a B.A. in English and a concentration in creative writing, specifically poetry. She is the poet behind the collection, The Land of Opposite Attractions, published in 2022. Currently, Catherine is about to start her MFA journey and is working on a second poetry collection, Loveland, as well as a multi-genre short story collection.
