Screenprinting Immersion (A)
Adult Multi-Week | Available
Whether you are a novice or advanced, this class will immerse you in screen-printing methods and projects that are customized for your personal level of enjoyment and exploration. Each student will select a personal theme and work with the instructor to make use of appropriate inks, image-making techniques like drawing fluid and photo, and substrates like paper and fabric to create final printed artworks and objects
- There are no prerequisites for this class. All students, regardless of experience, are welcome. Projects will be custom-developed for each student - whether new to screenprinting or advanced. Please bring a notebook, an apron/smock and a bag dedicated to this class.
Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.
JC Gilmore-Bryan
JC Gilmore-Bryan is a professional artist. In addition to teaching at VisArts, she also teaches at Virginia State University and has taught at VCU. She is a member of the Professional Printmaking group ONE/OFF. In 2011 she received a Fulbright Scholar award to teach mural painting and do her own work in screen-printing for a solo exhibition at the National Academy of Art in Sofia, Bulgaria. She has done residencies in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and in Paris at the Cite' Internationale des Arts. She has a MFA from Columbia University, MA from Vanderbilt University and a BS From MTSU. Her work is in collections around the world.
