In this class, you will learn a new art technique each week then will have an opportunity to use it in your journal following a prompt from the instructor or your own leading.

  • Please have a blank journal you make or buy ready for the first class. Between 6" x 9" and 9" x 12". Art supplies you have around the house, including, for example, but not limited to: pencil, markers, watercolors and brushes, artists' tape, colored pencils, etc. Whatever you have will work! This is a class about experimenting and letting the muse lead you so don't worry about materials - just bring what you have.
Singer, Susan

Susan Singer is a prolific full-time artist who has produced dozens of one-person art shows on topics related to the human body (Pregnant Nudes, 12 Naked Men, Scar Series, and Beyond Barbie, to name a few); landscapes (she fell in love with Iceland and paints it frequently as well as the James River); patterned mandalas; and art books. Susan’s interests are quite diverse, but all her work has at its core the desire to empower others and to help them follow their own passion in order to live the most amazing life possible.
